HI all, i have taken a full backup of my sql server 2008 backup and it was done successfully,
My question is how to validate that my backup file is perfect or not ?
can anybody assist regarding this. and also refer good books for backup and restore

i got it from another form .
ITs RESTORE VERIFYONLY options with checksum i can validate the backup files

RESTORE VERIFYONLY will detect most of the errors but not all of them. It is a good idea to restore your backups frequently to check their validity.

I agree with Gaurav.
"RESTORE VERIFYONLY options with checksum " is useful but to check integrity of backup you need to validate by restoring it(in test server)
