I have a maintenance plan for database backups that runs every night. It has been running without a problem until I applied SQL/2000 sp3a.
I am running MSSQL/2000 on an NT 4.0sp6a server.
The event log shows the following:
SQL Server Scheduled Job 'GL_DB_Backup' (0x11CC2901B566D711B9D7009027DE4DDA) - Status: Failed - Invoked on: 2004-06-18 08:12:09 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by User sa. The last step to run was step 1 (Step 1).
I have stopped and restarted the SQL Agent but this did not solved the problem. No changes have been made except for the udpate to sp3a.
Any help with this problem will be greately appreciated.

Can you try re-creating the maintenance plan and then schedule again ?

I went into the maintenance plan in EM and deselected one of the databases. I then started the job in EM and everything ran just fine.
I have no idea as to what caused this problem after the upgrade to sp3a. I am lucky that I only have a few maintenance plans. In a big shop this could be a problem.
Thanks,
Howard
