I am trying to help a friend that has a client that bought a system with a French OS (xp server) and French SQL Server 2000. The French company is now out of business. This company processes apples in the state of NY. I have been able to connect to the SQL Server with US- Enterprise manager. I can see objects and basic functionality. I have been able to do backups through the GUI and SQL Analyzer.
Problem: (besides not knowing French) I can not find a way to script the jobs/backups. Maintenance jobs fail when I try to create them. It rejects jobs when I try to create a job and script the backups.
I think there is isql, but have not found a way to utilize this.
If anyone knows how to get French Enterprise Manager, or knows how to script around this, let me know.
I was able to create an account called DBA with SysAdmin rights.
Thanks,
Joseph

Y, I used to do french support for MS and you've definitely got a lang problem here.
MSDN has different langs posted, but barring that, here's the french download for sql eval...

it's always best not to mix langs if you can help it. Way back when... when I was actually doing french support you really couldn't mix langs like that... though I did get away with it in a couple simple apps.
The honest answer is I just don't know. Try it, but backup your box first in case it does something bad. Otherwise, load the french OS in vmware or something like that.
