Backup file encryption - sql 2008r2 std edition

    Can we encrypt just the back file in sql 2008r2 standard edition? I couldn't find much info on backup file encryption on sql 2008r2.

    Not in standard edition. Backup encryption is a side effect of using TDE (transparent database encryption) and that's Enterprise only
