Alright, I have looked and looked and not found anything on this so any help I can get would be great as this is starting to become a real issue.
We are recieving the following errors.
- BACKUP failed to complete the command BACKUP DATABASE XXXXXX WITH DIFFERENTIAL. Error 3041
- BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device 'VDI_BC569D4E-39A5-43AB-B397-A758E7005DF9_2'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request). Error 18210
- BackupVirtualDeviceFile::RequestDurableMedia: Flush Failure on backup device 'VDI_BC569D4E-39A5-43AB-B397-A758E7005DF9_2'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request). Error 18210
These are not consistent. It happens randomly any of the 50 databases we run on the server and only affects one pure occurance. It happens on different days and there is nothing that I have found that running on the system that would cause it. It affects both full and differential backups. It does occur 2-3 times per week.
We are using SQL Litespeed if that matters.
Thanks for the assistance.

Looks to be a problem with your disk, check and see if it needs to be defragmented.
Also what RAID array is it? If so how many spindles is it made of?
Thanks!!

RAID 1 as it is for backups.
No idea about the number of spindles and the Network/Harddrive guy is out all week on vacation.
Thanks,
