Hi All,
Regarding Microsoft:
You must use SQL Server 2000 or third-party database backup programs to back up online database files. Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 backups cannot back up files that are in use and for this reason cannot back up online SQL Server 2000 database files.
....
I tried to find this kind of software, but so far I couldn't...Does anyone know any one ?
Thanks.

BackupExec is one such app but there are quirks about some oyu have to be carefull of. Personally I use SQLs BACKUP DATABASE process which works just fine to do backups to file or tape.

SQL Server can make it's own backups to disk, which any tape system can back up. This is the recommended method.
I'd avoid using 3rd party backup.
