What does it matter which is faster? They are two completely different operations with entirely different purposes. You can't substitute one for the other. If I tell you backup is faster than restore, it doesn't help you at all, because when you need to run a restore operation, you need to run a restore operation. Running a backup instead of a restore won't perform a restore on the system.
I agree. Go and read that article because you must have some confused notions as to what's going on. Why are you asking this question?
