Greetings, I am in need of a way to backup my DTS packages and my jobs I have running on my SQL 2000 server.
How can I do this without 3rd party tools.
Thanks
Gary

Packages and jobs are stored in the msdb database. Back up the database.

1. back up jobs
If you don't want to restore msdb, you use "generate script" feature in Enterprise Manger by
going -> Management -> Jobs: select the job and right click the mouse.
2. DTS
Save DTS as Structured Storage file by opening a dts package in design mode, click save as under package, and select Structured Storage file in Location. You can restore the package with this file on this server or other servers.
