Back up to Tape Error

  Has anyone ever gotten this type of an error. My backups have always run fine, however today I got this error in my log:

  BackupTapeFile::SkipFileMark: SetTapePosition failure on backup device '\\.\Tape0'. Operating system error 23(Data error (cyclic redundancy check).).

  Any info would be great.

  Maybe your tape is old, or the Tape Device has dirty head. Try to use one tape cleaner on tape device, and try another backup on new tape.

  Once I had this problem, and I take my tape device to assistance to clean it;
