Azure SQL database: How additional storage (beyond 250GB) being charged?

  Hi All,

  I have a question on how additional storage (beyond 250GB) will be charged for Azure SQL databases. Is it charged based on Max storage limit (MAXSIZE) or is it based on Allocated space?

  Thanks for the reply. Is this applicable for DTU-based purchasing model as well?

  Suppose, if I shrink a database, in order to reduce storage costs, do I need to lower MAXSIZE as well or not needed?

  Storage is separate from CPU/DTU cost.

  I don't believe MAXSIZE impacts charging. You pay for the GB used.
