what is the purpose of this option?
1. 32bit SQL server with 64 bit Windows Server with more than 4gb of ram
2. 32bit SQL server with 32bit Windows Server with more than 4gb of ram
3. 64bit SQL Server with 32bit Windows Server with more than 4gb of ram (is it possible to even install?)
another question, if the 32bit version SQL server is able to utilize the 4+ gb of memory, what is the main purpose of migrating from 32bit SQL to 64 bit SQL??
Thank you very very much, and hello I am new here

AWE is mainly to enable SQL Server to use memory beyond 4GB in 32 bit systems(OS). If the OS is of 64 bit one, AWE has no effect.
Moving to 64 bit from 32bit, you get the advantage of more RAM support and more speed as the PI length is longer.
Thanks
