I always think it is a good idea to enable AWE but in my company, it has Sql Server 2005 SP1, the administrator disable the AWE because he is using VAS according to this blog.

The guy said we had plenty of VAS and on 64 bit platform to make use of locked page, we did not need to turn on AWE.
Is that right?
Which one is better using AWE or VAS?

We are running two x64 servers, and do not have AWE enabled, and everything works fine. In your x64 environment you should be fine.
