Trying to understand the pros and cons. So I have SQL Server default instances and I am planning to configure as AOAG. However, the best practice I have heard is add the nodes to cluster first and then install SQL Server and configure AOAG? But I have situation where all the nodes are not available at same time so I am creating the server and installing SQL Server and then add them to the cluster and then configure AOAG. I have configured and never had any issues before? But do you see any issues with this approach? Please advise?

No issues - for AG you have to install SQL Server to that host and not to the cluster, so it doesn't matter the order you install the clustering services. As long as the clustering service has been installed prior to creating the AG in SQL Server (and validating the cluster for everything except storage) passes - there shouldn't be any issues.
