There's a setting called AutoSelectDataStoreAndHashPageSize in the configuration file msmdsrv.ini for SQL 2012 but I cannot find any information on this setting and how it changes the use of DataStorePageSize and DataStoreHashPageSize.
Can anyone shed any light on this setting and any pros / cons of having it enabled?

From what I understand, it would influence the use (or not) of the next couple of entries (i.e. datastore Page and HashPage size). They're probably set to 8kb. Assuming it's 2012, then it's likely that SSAS will chose 64KB pages (instead of 8) by default now.
For the best and most unequivocal answer, reach out to Akshai Mirchandani at MSFT. He may, or may not, answer your email as he's a busy guy, but he's a (the?) principal software design engineer - if anyone knows, he knows.
