auto subscribe the author to the forum posting

  • maybe it's just me, but it seems that I just noticed that if you contributed an an article or a script, a forum posting gets automatically created...but the author of the posting doesn't get any automatic notifications of any replys to that thread.

I just found where someone posted a follow up question from 5 months agao to one of my scripts i submitted...I felt bad following up so much later.

also, postings to those "Article discussions By Author" threads do not appear in the recent posts, but I figure that is by design, right?

  • That's odd, because when I have submitted an article, script, or QoD I seem to always be notified about comments. I wonder if there has been a change that broke that?

  • I've always been on the notification list for my articles. I generally drop the subscription once the topic quiets down and has no activity for a few days, but I've been automatically subscribed to them when they were posted.

Of course, my last article was January, so if something's changed since then, I wouldn't have seen it.

  • I think it's based on the defaults you have set for your account.

I know I always get them.
