Auto-growth Configuration

    I'm not sure what Auto-growth setting to establish for my databases...for example a database with  initial size at 10GB and is expected grow by 5GB every 2yrs. Any help will be appreciate.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the exact figures.  You're not expecting much growth, so you're not going to have all that many auto-growth event, unless you set the increment ridiculously small.  Maybe set the data file growth to 1GB, but keep an eye on the size so that you can control when the growths occur - you may want to schedule them to happen when the database is at its quietest.  You don't say what size you log file is and is expected to grow to, but make sure you set your auto-growth to a number that doesn't spawn an excessive number of VLFs.

    At this point the growth rate of the log file is unknown; it is an editing environment.
