Thanks for all the responses, I will look into the responses and more specific into the links (CDC).
CDC captures a lot but has to be specified for all tables . So the volume for 'occasional' analyzing/debugging is a bit much.
SQL anywhere 'only' captures all mutation statements and they can be read and replayed.
(Even commenting out the trigger statements, so they can be read and all else can be replayed).
(The supporting group uses this feature for 'debugging' and 'analyzing' and in rare cases for rebuilding the database).
I would like to think that SQLserver is superior (to every database
).
And I always 'sell' SQLserver as being superior. But in this 'instance' it's ??not?? .
