Attended my first SQL Satruday

  • Jack Corbett (9/21/2010)

There was one in Chicago last April, http://sqlsaturday.com/31/eventhome.aspx. I wasn't leaving FL for Chicago in April though.:-D

Can't say as I blame you although THIS year we had a decent spring.

I would bet there will be something in the Chicago area, or nearby, in the next year.

Nothing currently in the queue but I'll continue to watch. Heck, Milwaukee, even St. Louis, it'd be worth a road trip.....

Thanks gents! Was getting a little worried about the Chi-town SQL server users and potential lack of participation.

  • Brent Ozar is in the area, and I know he'd like to see another one, so I'm sure there will be one. I'd like to get out there, and I know people in St Louis as well, so I'll see if I can push a little and offer some support.

My favorite session was given by Alexander Kuznetsov on Defensive Programming. He had simple, understandable examples, was well-paced to give the audience time to absorb what he was saying, and was thought provoking. I also think I learned more about giving presentations by his fine example.

Sounds like that would have been interesting.

I have been writing chapter by chapter reviews of that book on my blog. Check it out sometime.

Great suggestion; I will do that.
