Asked to create an ''odbc'' connection

    Hi all,

    What is ODBC, as distinct from a user/login??  I've been asked to create an odbc "from a users machine".

    Would very much appreciate the "beginners 3 line tutorial" to ODBC.

    ODBC is OPEN DATABASE CONNECTIVITY which uses drivers to connect to any datasource. the drivers can be any OLE DB providers or ODBC drivers or any other drivers which can access the data source. u can configure a data source from the control panel ->Administration tools-> data sources or type odbcad32 in thr run command. and configure using the needed driver to access the datasource.
