Any "True DBA's" here? 🙂You can't see me!!
:hehe:
Is there such a thing as a ninja DBA? We swoop in, get the job done, and people wonder what, if anything happened? Let's compare:
- DBAs and Ninjas"fix" things
- We seem to do things magically, even though it's a well practiced set of skills
- Ninja's have throwing stars and can run on water, DBA's...ummm...have DBCC CHECKDB and ALTER INDEX..REBUILD ONLINE = ON
- Ninja's wear deadly black uniforms, DBA's also have functional clothing (we sit a lot)
Anything else?

Must I repeat the pythagorean theorem joke?
Yes, it's mandatory at this point.

Okay denizens of The Thread, here's a good one!
Looks like someone skipped classes during Basic Database Design 101.
Edit: changed "class" to "classes" after reading Lynn's post (see below)

Should we send that OP here: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sql+server+2008+checksum+function&l=1
or let him sweat a while longer?

You're welcome.
I need new padding on my walls. The current padding is way too soft.

Skipped A class? How about the entire course!
Ugghh...that topic gave me a headache reading it. This was not a day to try starting a low-carb diet.

Agreed, but I would add that it is not a good idea to encounter such a thread at any point during a low carb diet. 😀
