Not odd, ive always thought the exams are based around , can you remember obscure syntax for obscure functionality used once in a blue moon. They're not. The 1st generation cert exams were, to a point, like that. The latest ones aren't.
On a CV/Resume, would it be better to list your experiences first and then, at the end, list the cert(s), or flip the order and have the certs first, to at least grab people's attention? It almost seems that if you're submitting to a job placement agency, the certs should go first but when you have the proper interview afterwards with their client, or submit your resume directly to a company, then the experience should be listed first.
My resume is almost totally based on experience, with specific examples of what I have done (tailored to the job posting if there is one). I list skills and certs at the bottom. Like someone else said, the certs will be found via search regardless of where you put them. I suppose if the posting said MCITP required I would put it closer to the top, but mainly I stress that I HAVE done what the job requires.

Visions of Itchy and Scratchy just ran through my head.ROTFL! :hehe::hehe::hehe:
Jason, I don't want to be unrespectful, but, looking at the quite high number of wedding anniversaries most threadizens have, I don't think they all know Itchy and Scratchy! 😛
We are married not Dead!
Considering Itchy and Scratchy first aired in Nov 1988 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Itchy_&_Scratchy_Show) Even those who have been married for a while have probably seen Itchy and Scratchy at least once...
1988? I thought it was much later. Probably it's me that is getting old...
The Simpsons series didn't start until later 90 I think, I remember happening across the 20th anniversary special a few months back... 1988 was when it was still part of the Tracey Ulman Show, but yes it's probably not just you, rather all of us that are getting old, but it sure beats the alternative...

The Simpsons debuted on December 17, 1989.
It ran as a sketch starting in 1987 on the Tracy Ullman show.
And yet, Bart doesn't age.

At least Bart and Lisa can walk/talk etc... Poor Maggie has been sucking on that same pacifier for 20+ years!

My most recent resume starts out with a summary of key points. Like, "T-SQL: Extensive experience; SSAS: Minimal experience; .NET: No significant experience; etc", and then followed that with a list of my articles published here on SSC. I followed that with the usual list of jobs, most recent at the top, etc., with key accomplishments on each one.
The manager who ended up hiring me told me that listing published articles and a summary of skills right at the top really caught his eye and is what got me into the first interview.
With that resume, at one point I had five interviews scheduled in one week. So it seems to have worked for me.

They really should get her in to see a developmental doctor. She hasn't made much progress at all in 20 years.
