In BOL for ODBC Scalar Functions, it has a syntax of {fn ...}. Do you have a link that shows the use of d/t/ts like you used above?Yep...http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms180878.aspx#ODBCDatetimeFormat
Thanks for providing more documentation
Well I can't claim to have written it...:-P

Okay... can someone explain to me why a DBA might choose to disable statistics on tempDB?

I put my guess in that thread, since I was already involved in it. Take a look, see if you can visualize what I suggested might be the reason. 🙂

I'd never hear of disabling statistics on tempdb for performance so I did a little google research. I couldn't find anything from people or sources I trust. The closest thing I could find to something I could trust was this:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/360088/sql-server-tempdb-optimization-tips-for-a-new-server
It has a bunch of references to places and people I trust so I scanned through each link and from my quick scan I don't see any of the links supporting this tip. Maybe I'm wrong. I bet the DBA who set it found a link like this and doesn't really know?

That should stir up plenty of controversy. Maybe it should be done for 4/1

Like clustered indexes are better than nonclustered indexes?
