Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • To any of you folks from "down under":

    Congrats for winning the Hockey World Championship in India!

    We didn't have that much of a chance in the final though...

    We're rootin' for ya!

    * snigger *

    See the entry for root here

    Isn't it amazing how one perfectly innocent term in one culture means something completely different in another part of the world? Reminds me of a couple I met while in nuke school... His name was Randy. Not short for Randall or anything. When his ship was in England, he kept getting slapped by the girls when he introduced himself. Anyway, he ended up marrying a girl from the UK... her parents will only call him "Rand". For those that don't know, check out how the UK handles that name here

    Well then...I won't be naming any of my kids after an Uncle.;-)

    Heh... you just don't want to know the origin of the term "Dog & Pony Show".

    @Paul: CONGRATULATION to be one of the top 25!

    Congrats indeed. He's been making a mad push lately.

    Top 25 overall? I will have to go look at that.

    BTW *cough* have you seen who is #1 for the last 30 days? http://www.sqlservercentral.com/

    Quite surprised. I know I have been more active than usual recently, but most of my posts are quite long (and therefore slow to produce) these days.

    I will admit to running through some old QoDs recently too 😉

  • Congrats, Paul and Jason.

    Those QODs and posts add up, though be careful of burnout. I've seen this happen before a few times. Do what you enjoy, and when you get tired, take a break.

    Even I do that, despite trying to keep a regular pace up here. I can't do it every day.
