Some of the entries last year were in the second category. There were a small number that I read and said to myself 'you think you're exceptional? compared to what???'

Jeff has quietly passed the 20,000 pt mark. No fanfare???Congrats Jeff.
Congratulations on passing 20,000, Jeff!!
Heh... sorry I'm late for the party! 😛 Haven't had much time to spend on the thread and wasn't even looking at my points. I've still got about 180 to go to pass the 20,000 post mark though. Thanks for all of the well wishes and congrats.
I've been slowly creeping up on Steve... last year, he was 5000 or so posts ahead of me. Heh... maybe I should post more on "the thread"... I could probably catch him in a week or two. :hehe:
On the other hand, Gail has slowly been creeping up on me with her fine posts. There was a while when I though she'd beat me to the 20k mark. No doubt she'll beat me to the 25k mark.
Like I said, thanks again for all the congrats. It's been a real pleasure over the years because I've gotten to "know" so many of you. Keep up the great work and, like "Red Green" says, "We're all in this together and I'm pullin' for ya!"
Steve... you haven't mailed me a shirt since I passed 3000. Can I get a new one? 😀 Black/Large BWAA-HAA!!! Maybe a certificate to buy some nice fresh pork chops, too?:w00t:

Lynn only needs 37 more posts to become to only the 4th person to ever break the 10k post mark in the history of SSC. C'mon Lynn! We're rootin' for ya!

Great job on Twitter Grant. Mention DBCC TimeWarp to Paul and then run. 😀
I haven't logged back into Twitter yet. You're saying I got away with it?

I didn't see anybody make a comment about it either.

That would be funny! I was officially nominated DBA two weeks ago, it's a bit early to enter a competition and pretend that I'm "exceptional"! 😛Considering some of the entries we had last year, maybe not....
Exceptional has two possible meanings in my mind 😉
One good, one maybe not so much.
Heh. Good point, after all it's not called the "Exceptionally Good DBA of the Year Award"! 😀

Isn't it amazing how one perfectly innocent term in one culture means something completely different in another part of the world? Reminds me of a couple I met while in nuke school... His name was Randy. Not short for Randall or anything. When his ship was in England, he kept getting slapped by the girls when he introduced himself. Anyway, he ended up marrying a girl from the UK... her parents will only call him "Rand". For those that don't know, check out how the UK handles that name here
