Are the posted questions getting worse?

Thanks for giving me a count on the number of attendees for SQL Saturday.

    A theoretical question....

If a SQL Saturday was arranged in our tiny island of Curacao, Would any of you ladies and Gents show up for it? 🙂

    Ummm. It depends :-D:-D:-D:-D

Are you still wearing those Jason? 😛

Roy, are you paying the expenses? 😀

  • Ok..I am hooked...What does it depend on?

    -Roy

  • I am a poor guy... Not a multi millionaire like others... 😛

How about SQL Server Central sponsoring some people?? 😉

Ok..I am hooked...What does it depend on?

Who pays for the trip. :-P:-D:-P:-D:-P

Being the multicentair that I am, it would seriously depend on time of year, who else is attending, accommodations, and topics to be covered. 😀

Now, if you could get SSC to sponsor some people, dang it I would still not qualify 😉

Jason must not be paying attention. I thought George was asking a serious question. (To segue from Gails post.)

I 'complained' about people repeating my posts word for word, so George repeats the complaint word for word.

You have an echo, Gail. I nearly wasted a mouthful of beer reading the OP's reply to your post.

Look at the times of the posts. I was editing mine and adding the stuff about management studio while he was posting a reply. No one echoed the other this time. I do apologise to both you and your monitor/keyboard for the near-loss of beer and associated near-damage.

Kinda a relief, It frustrates me when people post replies and repeat almost exactly what I said minutes or hours earlier.

No worries - the near-loss of beer didn't cause a near-loss of hair.

  • Should have posted this Saturday.

My daughter, Kirisa, made the JV squad during tryouts. This weekend (Friday and Saturday) she played 3 games at the Mesa Ridge Tournament with the Varsity Girls. They won 2nd place losing the championship game 2 -1. Not bad for a team with 8 starting freshmen. I see good things for this team with the new coach and experienced club players joining the team.

Last year at the same tournament, the Lady Trojans took 8th.

Not keeping my hopes up, but I think she may get more playing time on Varsity after this weekends performance. She played 70 minutes out of 80 in the first game, 84 minutes in the second game (it went into OT), and about 75 minutes in the third game. She came out for a bit in the third game after she took a shot to face off her own foot.

  • Congrats, Lynn.

  • SQL Saturdays have ranged from a low of 50-60 people to a high, I believe, of about 400. The more successful ones have been 300+, but space limitations sometimes restrict things at some of them.

As far as going, as you asking if SSC sponsors speakers? We send Brad McGeHee or myself to some, but not otherwise.

When we (meaning Andy and I) had the framework, we did at times bring in someone like Joe Celko, Andy Leonard, Buck Woody to an event. They did a paid pre-con before Saturday and then spoke at Sat. No idea of PASS will continue that, or consider it.

Using this site, I think by your tourist board , pick out the beach for the meeting and maybe, just maybe, people will be asking you for an invitation

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Congrats. Much better way to earn a Varsity position in my opinion.
