Are the posted questions getting worse?

And when I cause noise you can slap me on the head... :hehe:

About the MVP topic, only MVPs can nominate someone...Right?

No, anyone can nominate you, including yourself.

Would that be the "Shoot-Aim-Ready" firing squad?

As a part of the evaluation, do you submit your own supporting documentation or does MS go and find it? Just curious how much input the nominee has in the award during the eval/re-eval process.

You get asked for a list of everything that you've done in the last 12 months. I imagine MS verifies that you're not exaggerating.

If I have to go in front of a firing squad.... yeah, that's the one I want.

And on a serious note, if I post something wrong or even questionable, I sure hope I get called it on and corrected. I want to learn too.

Actually I already got notice that my stuff was under review. I won't find out if I've done enough to qualify again for six more weeks.

iirc, I got my 'Tell us everything' mail at the beginning of June last year

Including yourself? Is that a bright idea? I mean if 100s of thousands of people nominate themselves, with all that noise wont they miss a genuine one?

I guess that is where it pays to keep copious records and notes. For some of you guys, that could be quite the lengthy process. Commendable for those that receive the award.

  • There are couple of guys/ladies here in this forum who have done quite a bit for the community and have a pretty good knowledge that deserve a MVP Status. That is from my standpoint.

And I'll tell you now that at least one of those people has been nominated. I'm not naming names... yet, but I hope they'll get in.

So go ahead an nominate them. Per a prior post, you're free to do so.

Personally, if I had to nominate anyone here, it would probably be the people who already have it: Steve, Gail, Grant, and Jeff. Not to diminish anyone else, but those four do a huge amount of work here, and always top quality.

I think those that self-nominate might get weeded out when they have to fill out a bunch of paperwork about their work over the last 12 months.

Some might be deserving too - but nobody has noticed what they did.

I think with the process as Gail has described helps to spread it out across the entire year - less chance of missing something. I think it would also get to be pretty easy to spot the ones that don't deserve it based on the body of work. That would lead to less chance of missing somebody that deserves it.

Then again, a lot would weigh on how well one documents their body of work.
