Has anyone noticed the success/failure rate on the QOD today?74% incorrect for Paul Randal's question on Checksum. Numbers are similar to his question the other day.
I got the checksum one right, but I had to think about it a bit.
Ditto for me. If I didn't read Paul's blog I wouldn't have known for sure.

I must stink at my job because I've got BOL open most of the time. I'm just not smart enough to remember everything. Must be why I'm not certified.+1 to everything there!
I feel bad every time I have to look up the CREATE FUNCTION syntax...:crying:
+1 me too.
What about all the options to ALTER TABLE, etc... I look it up.

Oh jeez, I'm so stupid. I never even thought about that. No wonder everyone gets so many points. Here I am trying to honestly answer the questions... I need to find a new line of work.Actually, I think that means you're so damn trustworthy, you're in exactly the right line of work.
As to the BOL thing, No One Knows What They're Doing. Love this post, that's my goal in life, to learn enough to not be dangerous.
That post is a pure concentrate of wisdom. It's a shame it can't be bottled and sold. It's even worse that some folks wouldn't take it even for free.

I follow the Einstein school of memorization here.

Is it me or is the signal:noise ratio here getting worse?
Some threads lately there's been so much conflicting advice from various people that it's hard to get useful facts.

Someone keeps running that on my dining room table - I keep stuffing napkins and such under one shorter leg, but it keeps happening!
Thanks for solving a mystery - SQL eh? Who knew.

We seem to have picked up a few "noisy" posters.
