I want an dolphin to take me away from all this, ride the waves and chase the sun.
Is this your way of saying you're coming down from the mountains?

Well, looks like I'm gonna have fun over the next few days. I've decided to upgrade my laptop to Win7 - 64 bits. I love re-installing all my software!!!!
Enjoy. Be careful if you use iTunes. I had issues on one machine w/ x64, another worked.

Nope, not anytime soon. I grew up on the ocean, and miss it at times, but I enjoy the mountains.
Was hoping to sneak out and snowboard tomorrow, but not looking good now. Might need to wait until Sun.

Not sure what happened, working on a timewarp restore now, as soon as I can get the pwd from IT
What? It's not "vanilla"?

Paul, the QOD does need a slight modification in verbiage.

Thanks, I do use iTunes, but I don't need it on the laptop. I can run it on the netbook.
It's a Toshiba laptop. What could go wrong???? :w00t:

Certainly does - and well put!
For everyone else, the answer in question is:
"With an exclusive lock, no other transactions can modify data (except for operations with NOLOCK hint or read uncommitted isolation level)"
Call me unreasonable, but that's not badly phrased - it's wrong. 😉

I have no idea what the pwd is, and don't want to know. It's someone else's responsibility.
I am thinking of setting up a recurring snapshot each night to make this easier in case I do something else stupid.

Is that an admission to being responsible in some part?

A gate bangs open and shut in the wind...
A tumble-weed rolls by...
It is dark.
There might be grues.

Has anyone noticed the success/failure rate on the QOD today?74% incorrect for Paul Randal's question on Checksum. Numbers are similar to his question the other day.
I got the checksum one right, but I had to think about it a bit.

Looks like somebody can't stay away from corruption threads...

I foresee SSIS being mentioned 😀

as implying that using a identity defines order ?

We don't even know if there is any corruption there. There's nothing I could see in the errors posted that hinted to a cause.
Could be server down, database dropped, login failures, etc. Suspect DB is the last thing I'd think about, cause it's rare.
