I want an dolphin to take me away from all this, ride the waves and chase the sun.
As long as a pork chop flinging hippo can accompany you :hehe:

I think that is a bit understated.
Did you see that hippo I left for you outside your tent?

Yes. I've just read every post in that thread, and the previous posts by 'GT' referenced by Gail earlier.
It is undeniably true that GT has posted some poor advice on occasion.
Nevertheless, I do think he was harshly treated in the suspect database thread.
Some of the responses from SSC regulars were quite shocking, and completely out of proportion.
As far as I can see, no-one came out of it with any credit.

Sure did, and I understand why he is armed with a thermodynamic 3 phased pork chop launcher, but what's with the pink tutu?

Perhaps that is true, but how long do you continue to defend an untenable position? Simple logic dictates that if you come in and find your databases in suspect mode, the first thing you do is check the logs, not start trying to extract data for the databases after putting them in emergency mode. And that doesn't take 15 to 20 years of experience to decide. Even a Jr DBA should know that much.

Anybody interested in reviewing an article on the ROW_NUMBER() ranking function? It's in a .doc file. PM me if interested.

Thanks Paul. I would like to apologize now to all if it seemed that I fell into that category.

It was her customary outfit and she refused to leave Fantasia without it.

I want a Hippopotamus for ChristmasOnly a Hippopotamus will do...
This strikes me as very funny - but I'm not sure why. Am I missing a reference, or are you just going mad (again)?

American Children's christmas song.
Mad as a Hatter.
Now, where did Alice go?
It was a less than subtle attempt at thread redirection.

I've been regarding it as a respectable way to change the subject... 🙂
