Come to think of it - it seems like he just wanted us to hold his hand and do it for him maybe 😀That link you sent was the equivalent of holding his hand, screen prints that are marked up to show what is important, a complete process to follow..
If he had said "I don't understand" I might have been more tolerant, but his response kind of set me off, already not having a good week so it doesn't take much..
I felt the agitation too. I think it coincides with the moon cycle. I'm waiting to see the next reply if there is one.

The flux capacitor may have been unbalanced. 😉

I just needed to vent a little bit..I see that it was in the 7, 2000 group but the title is:
Dynamic Connection TO DIFFERENT INSTANCES in SQL SERVER SSIS 2008.
That means SSIS to me..

And now that I see it in the active threads (didn't look there as I didn't know what I was looking for), I can see the entire title.

I completely understand, because of the title I never looked at the group it was in.. But I stand by my recommend and the link posted.. and your comment later in the post..

Probably should verify with the OP that he is working with SQL Server 2008 and, if so, have the thread moved to the appropriate SQL Server 2008 forum.

As many times as we have run into questions asked in the wrong forum, I did ask the OP which he is working with, SQL Server 7/2000 or SQL Server 2008.
Does come down to the OP being able to read and correctly post their questions as well, not just their answers.
Now that I am on the same page as the others, I agree as well.

Just knowing that I am helping someone is what makes it all worthwhile.
(if that doesn't make sense, then note closely the dates & times in the thread above, and at the one he links to...)

Hard pill to swallow there. The reality of it is somebody provided an answer where he didn't have to make any changes. No fault on your part. The OP just wanted to be spoon fed.

I think the time on the MSDN Server is off or it doesn't know what timezone I'm in, which comes out to be about the same. I watched a thread that was "Last Reply 23 hours 49 minutes ago" and when it ticked over to 24 hours it changed to Monday, February 15, 2010 8:28 PM. It's 1:30 PM here, so the date on MSDN is off by 7 hours for me. His original post on MSDN was at 5:37 PM, which would be 10:37 AM for me and your first reply to his thread was at 10:45. So I think yes, he was posting multiple places, but I think he might have posted out there just a few minutes before being able to see your reply.
