Are the posted questions getting worse?

I guess it's time for me to start a personal black-list

Ehh, I wish I would've seen that comment before I posted the solution,

Why be so rude anyway, I mean, people are just trying to help!

    Cheers,

Some are born that way, some are raised that way, others somehow get there own.

Well, we could see what happens to his future requests for help if the "gurus" stay away. 😉

It's too late now, we should have posted his answer behind the wood shed. :w00t:

Unfortunately the solution only works in some of the databases. I was ready to post another reply to that thread when I tested it some more. I found a few databases that still show dtproperties and sysdiagrams.

Still looking for an alternative answer.

Interesting, on 1 of my databases, the sysdiagrams is grouped under system databases, but the dtproperties is not... Seems even in the Studio there is a glitch...

  • Yes, this is a very interesting question.

  • Nothing says we can't continue to work on a better solution, especially if it may benefit others that may be more appreciative of our efforts and are more professional in their responses.

Especially since I told him the same thing and didn't get insulted.

Should I feel insulted that I didn't get insulted? Perhaps instead of getting insulted I got ignored. :hehe:

  • Thanks for standing up for me 🙂 I appreciate it very much.

This is the first time I got insulted here. Feels kind of strange... But what ever.. I will try to help others when ever I can with the limited knowledge I have.

  • I think the only method to exclude those two tables (sysdiagrams and dtproperties) is to hard code them into the query. Anybody else have any other ideas?

  • If you use is_ms_shipped = 0, does it not exclude those tables?

Those two tables, no. They are tweener tables. They were technically shipped with SQL Server, but not truly activated until a user creates a diagram. They are considered User tables by MS.

Whether they show up in a database is also a bit inconsistent. I have them showing up in those queries whether I have a diagram or not, and sometimes they don't show up at all. In this scenario it has to do with the extended properties - but I see nothing that correlates.

  • Thanks for the update Jason. It works in all my Databases I have. In some database I dont even see those tables.
