Maybe we could turn this into an April Fool question of the day.
Which of these methods can be used to restore a damaged database to the state it was before the damage using a backup taken after the damage occurred? (Choose all that apply)
1 -
2 -
3 -
4 -
5 - All of the above
6 - 1, 2, 3, 4, but not 5
7 - None of the above
8 - 5 and 7
I actually wrote but never submitted a question very similar to this. It stated "Please click the correct answer. Only 1 answer is correct and there is a correct answer." Then there were four answers, each with descriptive text: Answer 1, Answer2, etc. The "correct answer" text in the question was actually a javascript link that selected the radio button for one of the answers listed. If you actually clicked on the text, it would mark the correct answer for you. :-D. With the rash of "This question is the worst ever" posts, I decided the audience wouldn't appreciate it and never submitted it.

Yes, but you'll have to wait for Gail's Blog post on DBCC TimeWarp to make certain you get all 137 non-optional parameters correct.btw, as an aside, in case anyone's wondering why 137...
The fine structure constant, a constant that is central to the theory of QED (quantum electrodynamics) has a value very close to 1/137
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fine_structure_constant
137 and 42 are values that I tend to use when making stuff like this up
Heh... that was my mug number at the beer club. 137. And, yes, it did help time fly. 😛

I'm contemplating a blog post on the recovering historically deleted data with DBCC TimeWarp (with all 137 non-optional parameters). Maybe for the beginning of April...
Hey Steve... If us "Thread-izens" can collaborate and get an article together on this, would you publish it on 4/1? Of course, it would have to have a completely reasonable, yet bogus author...
It would probably make for a good, entertaining diversion for a lot of us! 😀

I loved the touch of Ella, bb.
Wayne, and anyone else, I've taken the liberty of creating a forum specifically for DBCC TIMEWARP here.

How the @#%&^#! do I go back and find the original posts? It's vital if are to avoid disrupting the space/time continuum. I know Gail came up with DBCC TIMEWARP, but I've forgotten the name of the stored procedure it supersedes.
Steve... we need a special search that goes through The Thread only.
