When I see something that looks like homework I tend to look at their posting history, just to see how lazy they really are. I wasn't terribly surprised when a familiar thread appeared in the list.
I'm sure I'll ask stupid questions in the future (I know i have in the past) but I'd never just slam the door and walk away.
If I sulk, I sulk in private.

I'm quickly losing faith in many people. I'm not sure that there's any hope for the future. The link below is just an example. Too many people seem to be clueless about what they're dealing with.

Hopefully, between BrainDonor and myself, we've been able to keep the OPs posts... he has a history of deleting them.

Yep. I'm seeing too much of this lately. For some reason I can't help but think about what my next career move will be and how I'm going to get there. Maybe that's on my mind because I'm thinking about how some of these OPs got to where they are. It's not just the OPs. In my previous contract I saw close to 500 IT people lose their jobs to outsourcing. The company outsourced it's IT function to a major IT company. I was amazed at the lack of skills that these people had. I could not believe that a company like that would hire those people.
Edit: Spellcheck is a wonderful tool, if you use it!!

This thread is going to get interesting. :hehe:How new does someone have to be to not know substring functions and basic comparisons? Who's hiring these people anyway?
Oops, I forgot, this could be another homework question.
We're gonna have to start checking Id cards and resumes at the door.
Nah! Put it in as a QOD, stand back, and watch the flame war :w00t:
That would be interesting:w00t:

Is that what the cancel button does (spellcheck)?

I'm fast losing both patience and hope. The last month, it feels like I've been correcting almost as many replies as I have been answering questions

Am I getting too picky?

Having been corrected by you during the last month - I don't think it is "too picky." I learn from it - I still hope that they may learn from it someday too.

Nope. The only mechanism to prevent a myth becoming a common myth is to correct it 🙂

On the last one you almost corrected Jeff on the LDFs thing, so I think you have the answer.:-D
Just kidding...
I got corrected by you many times and I think it's a good chance to learn something new and loose strange myths and misbeliefs.

I realised what he meant. Just the way it was phrased was open to misinterpretation.
