Would someone explain to me the attraction to sites like Twitter and FaceBook and explain what they're actually good for so...It's a bit like SQL Server CLR integration - it seems to be A Good Idea in principle, but no-one has yet found a killer application for it. 😉
My primary purpose for signing up on twitter was for my blog that I recently started. From what I have seen, most of it is social. However, I only look at twitter in the evening when most of the people I "follow" are winding down down for the day. 90% of the people I follow are SQL Server related. It is nice to look at some of the chatter on twitter from time to time that deals with the people I interact with for the profession.

I need a couple of volunteers if any are willing and have some spare time.I am wrapping up an article and would like somebody else to review it if possible.
Thanks in Advance.
Seems like you've gotten some very qualified volunteers for this already so I'll just ask for the sake of curiosity... what's the title of the article so I know what to look for when it comes out?
Log Growing Pains.
Assuming it gets published.

Oh, before I forget Jason, we passed on to our local chapter membership the link to your blog about user group participation. That should be required reading for all SQL professionals and enthusiasts!!!I'm probably still asleep and missed the link... what is it? It sounds quite interesting.
Link wasn't shared
Here it is:
Thanks, Jason... nice write up.
Thanks, I appreciate that.

We meet second Thursday of each month. Pacific Time zone.Same as Seattle? That puts you 10 hours behind me. So if you meet at 7pm, it'll be 5am the next day where I am. I might decline the invitation. 😉
...and a whopping 21 hours behind me :w00t:
7pm Thursday PST = 4pm Friday for me.
Ahh - looks like perfect timing 😉

BWAA-HAAA!!!! I understand THAT explanation perfectly! And, that's what I thought.
That being said, I believe I'm going to suggest to all the people that keep bugging me about signing up for such sites that there may be some high velocity pork in their future if they don't back off. 😛

Don't let Adam Machanic hear you say that. He's pretty convinced he's created a killer app with CLR at some investment firm he's been consulting for.

I'm usually a pretty strong advocate of CLR stuff myself - the 'humour' in my reply was intended for Jeff. Sorry for the confusion. And yes, Adam does great things with CLR (though it seems he has had trouble with 2008 just like me recently, judging from his Connect entry).

I think I might be able to get my hands on one, but it has dead batteries.

Careful. It starts to be a sad thing when someone looks to the Thread for company on a Friday night....;-)
