He may have meant that he has "read the books" and that is basically all he knows whereas others have "so much time on", meaning more time working with SQL or more experience, and are lucky that way.
If he'd even opened a related book, half of his questions would have been answered without the need to post.

Today is a Thread Gone Wild day - and I am still catching up.
So will you pay for travel expenses of those denizens that are closer (Jack in Florida, Grant in New England?, Steve or Lynn from Colorado)?
I can't promise anything, but the closer one is to Memphis, the more likely we might be able to find a sponsor willing to help.

I can even recommend a book for that. From SSMS - press F1

Actually his comment may have been much nicer than we thought, thanks to his poor English. He may have meant that he has "read the books" and that is basically all he knows whereas others have "so much time on", meaning more time working with SQL or more experience, and are lucky that way.
I may be wrong.
You're wrong. This guy doesn't know anything of any value at all about SQL Server. He's got negative knowledge and skills, and the tact and diplomacy of a wrecking ball. Every thread he's ever posted.
I posted an answer, because other people may also not realize that SQL Mail doesn't work on 64-bit SQL 2005/8, and may actually be stuck on the point. There's no helping him, but others with the same question may benefit from it.

You really need to try a remote presenter. It actually works pretty well. Not quite as good as in-person, but close. Especially if you have a fairly well-known presenter (that would rule me out, but Grant, Gail, or Steve would work). I was just working off the list Jason provided. You know about others.

I'll have to discuss that with my partner in crime, oops, I meant our Chapter President, especially since we seem to have a lack of speakers in Memphis. Anyone know any SQL MVPs in Memphis? I know you don't have to be an MVP to be a speaker. I just wanted to make a point about not being as fortunate as some other areas. We're not letting that discourage us.
That reminds me, hey Dixie. Dixie FlatLine. Are you still on for March?
Have any of you tried replacing webcasts at your meetings? I know there's a ton (hmm, how much does a webcast weigh?) of them out there that are worth watching.

I was thinking of suggesting this as a possibility for our chapter too. What do you use Jack (for remote presentations)? I imagine a webcam and good speakerphone are probably essential?

I haven't, but I do keep the PASS Summit recordings handly in case of a late cancellation or no-show by the speaker.

What we used for the 24 hours was Live Meeting, webcam and good computer microphone. We used the PC-audio, not phones. Worked quite well.

(Tired of too many nested quotes so I'm starting a new post.)
If a presenter was doing a LiveMeeting presentation for one PASS Chapter, is there any reason why multiple chapters could not be viewing the same presentation at the same time? This could be an interesting idea for chapters in the same time zone to try.

Alvin, I'd gladly attend if it was LiveMeeting. Planning on attending OPass too when possible, for the same reason. Can't beat free training 🙂

Our chapter president does the same thing (PASS Summit recordings).

We used LIve Meeting. If you are an official PASS Chapter you get an account for free. Contact Blythe Morrow at PASS HQ.
Here's how we did it at OPASS http://wiseman-wiseguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/broadcasting-opass-over-live-meeting.html.
We used PC Audio and only had a couple of garbled words in the presentation by Andy Leonard.
