Are the posted questions getting worse?

By the way Jeff, very nice review of Grant's book.

Thanks... Grant is an easy read and I learned several new tricks as a "bonus".

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Oh! I misinterpreted. So, Steve, the right answer should be Post Modernism? Or Classical Revival?

    Shouldn't that be "Post Modenism"?

  • I don't know if I like this idea. There's already too many places for people to go ask questions.

You do or don't like it?

Personally, I don't like the twit thing...err twitter thing. Let's give all those Students another means to get immediate answers while taking their exams or prepping for an interview. Granted, their are some that will use the service legitimately - mostly I predict it will be abused.

The upgrade was the implementation of the "GO FASTER" button.;-)

Yes & no. How many SQL Server questions fit into 140 characters? I just don't like that they suggested a different site than us for detailed questions (and at 140 characters, they're all detailed).

  • I don't like the SQL Server Twitter thing either. I think it will clog up with lots of noise, from a relatively few people. I've seen some people try to get answers from Paul Randal that way and it appears to be a bit of a mess. Lots of back and forth, not much value from what I see. And it's annoying for the group, at least for me.

  • So, Steve, going tell us about the upgrade?

  • Yes, please - Divulge the upgrade details.

  • Will Steve keep us begging all weekend?

I'm thinking that the 'Go Even Faster' button was pushed. Why stop short of a total meltdown?

The lights are flashing, and poor Alvin is still a Red X. I just wish the X would flash a bit.....
