Are the posted questions getting worse?

I feel like unsubscribing from that item but I'm scared to miss out on a few laugh.

There you go, that's why the rubber-neck effect is so powerfull... just like you're watching a really crappy movie, you keep thinking that it might get better or you could miss out on something, so you end up watching the whole thing... and lose another hour of your life :w00t:.

  • Thanks for reminding me about crappy movies Ninja.

I still haven't watched that crappy one Netflix sent me 2 months ago: Plan 9 from Outer Space.

  • What the OP is writing in Spanish is being translated through yahoo.babelfish.com, and is being mangled horribly. I just tested some of his Spanish on there, and got exactly what he's "writing" in English.

There's no telling what our technical answers are coming out as. I tried running a few through translate and translate back, and the results are very nearly disturbing.

    For example, Lynn posted this:

    "Mind readers we are not.

If you are unwilling or unable to answer our questions or do the tasks we ask, tell us now and we will all leave you alone. If you really want our help, you have to help us. Answer our questions, provide us with the information we ask for, do the tasks we ask you to perform and show us the results.

If not, you have only yourself to blame for not getting the help you request."

I had Babel Fish translate it to Spanish, and then back to English, and this is what I got:

"The mind readers we are not. If you cannot little arranged or to answer our questions or to make the tasks that we asked, díganos that now and all the license you only. If you want really our aid, you must help us. He answers our questions, he provides with us the information who we asked, that we make the tasks we asked that you realise and who she demonstrates the results to us. If no, you have only same you to blame not to secure the aid that you ask."

Just read that a moment and see if you can understand why the OP might be a little confused by it. 🙂

I just love the part where "we will all leave you alone" gets turned into "all the license you only". Particularly since the grammar almost sounds like something Lynn would actually write!

This thread is horrible, like a bad car crash, but I just can't look away:

Hey Micheal, do you realize that this thread alone has more posts than you in all your years... that's scary to think about :w00t:.

Well, I do have almost a thousand posts on SSC, but it looks like it might take that many to answer whatever question they are trying to ask. :crying:

And sometimes, that's best thing on the boob tube (hence its name).

  • That post is not going to be resolved unless someone answers completly in spanish or if he learns english.

In either case there's little more I can do to help there :hehe:.

Anyone speaks spaniosh that can drop in and start over that thread?

Ahh!, I have a TV, BUTT I disconnected the cable a couple months (almost a year). I don't miss it all that much. When I feel like zapping, I just pick up a book or go waslk in nature. I don't feel like I'm losing anything!

You don't have to be an expert in this area either, as long as you can serve as a translator between us and the person we are trying to help.

  • GSquared (1/28/2009)

    ...

    ...

That's bad, but it's still orders of magnitude clearer than the OP's posts.

  • While I have no intention of getting PERSONALLY involved with that thread, I can think of only two things. They are idle thoughts and may be worth exactly what you are paying for them.

First, someone could be yanking your chain, using babelfish to make broken english. I don't really think this is the case, but you never know. The only reason I bring it up is because they went from large childish font with almost incomprehensible grammar, back and forth to "yelling" in caps, and then suddenly manage

"the packages are completely safe but not like finding or using the objects"

"so if somebody can support to me with this I am going them to be thankful"

These last two do NOT sound babel-fishy to my ears, but I'm from Mississippi so what do I know?

Second, looking back to their first entries Could they be asking where the data WOULD be stored IF they migrated to DTS with proper logging? That was my first impression before the train wreck started rolling.
