Coffee isn't necessarily for steak. Maybe after, with the "adult beverage group" included.
au contraire, mon ami - check out the coffee cured filet

If anyone is near a location, definitely worth a trip.

Hey Steve:I've just about got the "It Depends" article from a week or so ago finished. Should be ready for review tonight. It compares three different techniques of pulling the detail of the first row in a series. It doesn't nail down the exact pain point for each technique, because that would vary from table to table, but it does show how the efficiency rankings change as the volumes progress from 1,000 to 10,000 to 100,000 to 1,000,000 rows.
Could someone do a little proofreading and give me some constructive criticism?
I'd be happy to do a little ignoramus review, let you know if I can understand it well, grammar/etc. Definitely not up to snuff on the technical part of this, but very interested. 🙂

Bob,
Why not make it 3? I can review it too if you want a 3rd set of eyes.

Sure, Jason. I'd be in debt to all of you guys.
Do me the great favor of being brutal with constructive criticism. The article is intended to help novices "get" the fact that there aren't hard and fast answers to some questions. If I'm not explaining things in sufficient detail (or more likely talking too much), just let me know. I need to spend about another hour on it at home tonight, then I'll email the draft to y'all.

Heh... a little play on words... to Novices, all the answers are hard and usually too fast. 😛

Yeah, Jeff, but I'm from the south.
Alvin, and the folks who made it to the PASS Summit, can testify that I talk slow and use small words. 😉
But I'll try to dredge up a few polysyllabics for the little piece you talked me into writing.

Yep, Bob can use small words, and mostly small words. (I'm still surprised he can pronounce his 3 syllable last name.)
Just kidding. I've heard Bob use a for big words.

Is it just me or has Barry gone missing??
November 24, 2009 at 8:39 am
I haven't heard from Barry. Hope he's well. Haven't seen any blogs appearing either. I'll try to email him.
November 24, 2009 at 8:46 am
I sent Barry a message through LinkedIn last week asking how he was doing. Never got a reply. I haven't seen any recent posts from him on any of the forums.
