Hey Grant, I think this one would be a good one for you as it is about how the optimizer picks which table to use as the outer table in a nested loop join. I gave a short answer, but I could be wrong.

I had a decent rib eye at a steak house in Gettysburg on Friday after a 10+ mile hike with the Scouts covering about 2/3 of the Union lines and the same on the Reb side of the field. Unfortunately I couldn't have the second of the two food groups, beer.
... 2 food groups? Which one does coffee fall in?
🙂

Coffee isn't necessarily for steak. Maybe after, with the "adult beverage group" included.

I didn't realize it was food. I thought coffee was the same as oxygen & water, a necessity for life.

Seriously, I think coffee probably belongs with drugs, I mean the legal ones.

I had a nice thick ribeye Saturday night as part of the victory celebration when Ole Miss beat LSU. 😀I also saw the movie "The Blind Side" this weekend and can recommend it as a "feel good" movie. Sandra Bullock was hilarious.
I will answer the question in advance:
Yes, many Southern women really ARE like that. I'm married to one.
Good movie. SJ character was funny too.
Was happy that Ole Miss won too - not a fan of either school, but want the rankings shook up.

Not bad keeping a thread alive for a year at an average of about 26 posts per day.

I'd always heard that Irish Coffee was the perfect food as it comprises all of the major food groups:
Alcohol
Sugar
Caffeine

It's what's for dinner - the primal food group - and thus better than the major food groups listed.:-D

Hey Steve:
I've just about got the "It Depends" article from a week or so ago finished. Should be ready for review tonight. It compares three different techniques of pulling the detail of the first row in a series. It doesn't nail down the exact pain point for each technique, because that would vary from table to table, but it does show how the efficiency rankings change as the volumes progress from 1,000 to 10,000 to 100,000 to 1,000,000 rows.
Could someone do a little proofreading and give me some constructive criticism?
