How do you find the time? School, articles, SSC, writing books, work...

    School?

It's 11pm and I'm just starting on a report that'll likely take 2-3 hours. Answer your question?;-)

Not writing any books at the moment. The MVP one was written last year.

These days it's 8am-midnight (or later) solid at the computer (and that's not playing games) Overcommitted? Yeah, just slightly...

Wait, sounds like somebody I know (the hours at least - 07:30 - 01:00 typically).

    Well good luck.

.... not to mention practicing martial arts and conquering the galaxy.

Galaxy unfortunately remains unconquered. Haven't touched that game since I mentioned it here. As for martial arts, well, let's not talk about my attendance lately.

    Woot.

  • I think Gail is like me, running from thing to thing, not sure how all the plates are staying in the air.

At least I have kids to balance things out at times. Course, them being snowed in today, they are making it hard for me to work.

Nah, you're only overcommitted when you give up sleep entirely. As long as you're still sleeping there's still time to do something else.

I wanted a snow day, unfortunately most of the snow stayed north of Monument this time. hope you get dug out soon. 😉

  • Snow day is worse here. The kids are home, need to work around them. I've been trying to edit articles around a game of Life, one of Chess, and I've dodged Disney Scene It so far, but I think my time is short.

Sounds like the Summit will be restful for you. I guess I've just never been ambitious enough.

What is it with some people? I have seen sevarl threads where people are addressing others on their SSC Title instead of their forum name. like GSquared.

Same attention to detail they give to their code... 😉

Looking at the chapter descriptions, Dont see Jeff down there. or am I missing something?

Nope... I've just been so busy I don't have the time it takes to write a check never mind stuff for a book. Might sound a little corny but I'd rather write for my "home"... SSC. 😉

    ... speaking of which...

The long overdue rewritten "Running Total" article is due to pop up on the SSC home page on Tuesday, November 10th... lots of new stuff. I have to start work on the follow up that shows some other practical uses.

  • Would someone be willing to keep an eye on this thread?

I'm not sure at this point how big a problem it is, but I'm leaving for the airport in 3 hours and am unlikely to check back until tomorrow evening.

If it's a nonclustered index, it should just be drop index, create index. If it's in the cluster/heap it's repair or restore. Might need DBCC Page to get the object/index id.
