So true, Alvin. 🙂By the way, thanks for everyone's insights. I always thought that relational was the db model of choice because of flexibility and because it was the easiest for producing information. It was like pulling teeth to try to look at information in a hierarchical system in new way. If it hadn't been designed anticipating certain views of the data, you almost couldn't get there from here.
Do you feel like doing a presentation about hierarchical databases?

Absolutely not. I haven't worked with one in forever.

We had a bit of a scare in my family this afternoon. My 10 year old daughter fell off a rope swing and landed on her head. She was briefly unconscious and had short-term memory loss. My wife took her to the hospital and after an exam and CAT scan she was sent home with a diagnosis of "concussion with amnesia and loss of consciousness". We have to wake her up every 2 hours tonight. Fortunately she seems fine and is back to normal. When it first happened she wasn't the same person.
Anyway, if I make some incoherent posts in the middle of the night (Eastern time) that's why. I will be doing my time waking up Danielle.

Thanks guys. Made it through the night and she is fine. This is our first time with a "real" injury to our kids.

It's always a terrible fright when something like that happens even when it's the 40th time... I very glad that you and your daughter made it ok. It's absolutely amazing how resilient kids can be.

Jack,
We're all really happy to hear your little girl is doing fine. 😀
Let's hope that's the last time you have to contend with a real injury. Hopefully you are catching a nap as this is being typed. 😉
