Wow, stop now Gus, what do I see there on DHMO.org "What are some uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide?"

    (1) by software engineers, including those producing DICOM programmer APIs and other DICOM software tools, and (2) by popular computer science professors?

And I like the "Can using DHMO improve my marriage?" section.

    Nice try...

I came up with a new one late yesterday: It's been used in torture of PoWs.

My favorite is still the bit about withdrawl symptoms being 100% fatal.

Took me 4 minutes more to get ahead of you posting and getting me to doubt what the heck you or rather the DHMO site was suggesting. As I said, nice try, and I guess if this were a tabloid newspaper millions would have fallen for it. Scary thought...

When I first ran into the site in '98 or '99, it was a lot more subtle and didn't have the silly stuff on it. I have a well-educated family, but none of them "got it" when I sent them the links. My stepfather is especially prone to conspiracy theories and he bought the whole bridge.

I suppose you probably don't want to know how easy it would be to topple any major nation on this planet with just a loaded pistol, right?

That's reminded me of someone we used to work with - whose knowledge of that sort of topic was somewhat scary. When he left we bought him a sword... :w00t:

Actually, a pocketknife would probably be enough, as opposed to a sword or pistol. But a firearm would definitely be more effective.

    Woo-hoo! Back in 6th place. 🙂

Now all I need to do is to keep this up for three years... And for at least four people to die... :Whistling:

Don't look at me! I still have two kids at home who I want to see graduate from college and walk down the aisle and see grandkids!!

The view's much better in heaven, I hear. Especially for Saints, don't you guys get reserved court side seats? 😀

    4. How many questions on the homework paper?

*ding* *ding*, Looks like you cynicism tank is almost full Paul. 🙂

Ah yes, it's been six months, hasn't it? Which is almost exactly on time, and also means that it is time for me to ask you to re-review this thread, and let me know if you still feel the same way (about the first three posts). Don't worry, I'll live either way ... 😛

True story: I remember the first week that Paul started posted here I thought two things:

    1) Whoa! This guy knows his stuff. I sure hope he stays. and,

    2) He seems to think that some of our replies show us to be real jerks. I bet he won't think we're so rude after he's been doing this for a while too. I'd say it'll take about six months.

    Not kidding. 🙂

Guilty as charged, though in mitigation I'd just say that I was attempting humour.

Probably should have left it alone, yes.

Please, don't get me wrong Paul. I'm not saying that there was a thing wrong with your post, there wasn't. I'm just saying that today the stuff that I was saying (and assuming 🙂 ) six months ago, probably makes a lot more sense now.

Sorry, but I'd rather be here in person for those events.

I'm taking a 2 week vacation starting next week, and I may or may not be around. We are driving to Ft Jackson, SC to see my oldest daughter graduate from Basic Training. We'll get to spend most of the 15th and 16th with her, she even gets to stay with us at our hotel off base the night of the 15th. She has to return to the base nlt 2000 on the 16th and then flys to Goodfellow AFB for 7 months AIT.

Here is the fun part, at no expense to us, we will be spending the weekend in Myrtle Beach SC. Friends of ours are using their Time Share points to get us a place for the weekend. Then the long drive back and few days off to recover before going back to work on the 26th.

    😉

It's hard to stay in the top 5-10 here since you get points for questions. It seems that we'll have a few people every month answering 500 questions and jumping up in the rankings for awhile.

How true. However, Barry, Grant, and Jack were actually talking about the Overall Leader Board, not the Past 30 Days shown on the home page.

All I need is another 165 posts and I'll hit 8000 on the Forum Posters Board. I'll need a few more than that to break the 10,000 on the Overall Leader Board, but heh, whose counting?

I just enjoy being involved with this awesome community! 😀

  • ...However, Barry, Grant, and Jack were actually talking about the Overall Leader Board...

    And I can't believe I'm 16th 😀

Mind you that will probably won't last :crying:

Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

Wow, she's graduating from basic already? Seems like just yesterday you were posting about her going to basic.

Sounds like a great vacation. My next couple of "vacations" are 3 of the seminars before SQLSaturday in Orlando and then the Summit.
