John,
I don't think that is a glitch. I don't think the forum has ever really shown the description. I don't think the OP knows what the problem/question is either based on later responses.
Yup, I saw Gail on one thread I'm on.

It's a long-standing issue with the Forums, IMHO. Posters see the "Description" header textbox, and enter their question into it, thinking that it will show up in the thread, but it doesn't. The only place that I know of that it shows up is as the thread subtitle in the Forum directory listings (and its severely truncated there). IMHO, this would be a good feature for SSC to drop as it mostly adds confusion and frustration.

Can't possibly agree more.

Telepathy... Thats what you all lack....:-D
Isn't date_closed = calendardate in the join
like saying
1=1?
So the query is working perfectly.
And I think I saw a teaser to this effect.....

The water cooler has been too quiet for my liking. I am getting withdrawal symptoms. What is happening? Where is everyone? 🙁

I guess we've been busy. I know I am. Between work, soccer, trying to research an article for SQL Server Standard, and life in general, not much time.

So you have decided what you are going to write for SQL Server Standard?

Offer up some free beer and see if that gets a response. 😛
Busy - lots of planning for upgrades for next year.
At this rate, 10,000 posts is a ways away.

Ah, music to my ears...
I've been a bit busy too. Editing stuff for SQL Server Standard, Scouts, work, and trying to write a couple of chapters for a new book from Simple Talk. This one is suffering because I just can't find enough time to work on it.

I finally figured out what I want to write about for SQL Server Standard (Atleast attempt but I know it will be rejected) but I cant seem to write even a single sentence. Some kind of block. Every time I start and finish one paragraph, I go back and delete it because it does not look good. Darn.. Never had this problem.

Ten thousand posts isn't that far off actually. All it takes is one hot topic to bring out a lot of posts.

That abstract doesn't need to be perfect. Go with your gut & write it down. If it needs work, I'll let you know, nicely. Promise.

One hot topic? I wonder how many posts we'll get in here during, and immediately after, the PASS conference.

I've been spending my SSC time on the general forums instead of The Thread for the last few day.
