Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Thanks Grant, Alvin 🙂

Still a long way to go. I am getting lots of positive feed backs from the people who attend. They are coming up with new ideas and that is wonderful. 🙂

    Roy,

I wouldn't mind reading some of the ideas your members come up with. Our PASS chapter is still fairly young. Our first meeting was just this past March, so we're not that far ahead of you.

Does anyone know a good forum for PASS Chapter leader discussions?

Actually no, and there ought to be. There's an idea for the new PASS Virtual Chapters.

I just fired off a message to Greg Low, the board member that manages chapters, to see what we've got available, if anything. Great question. Why the heck didn't I think to ask it before. Thanks Alvin.

    You going to the summit?

    You going to the summit?

I got this picture in my head of Grant in mountaineering gear on the slopes of Everest as he passes Alvin...

And there's another one. PASS-es. Jeez. Think it's time for me to go home, my brain is too tired to come up with anything useful.

Nope, not going to make it to the summit. 🙁

  • Maybe we should make a forum in SQL Pass where the chapter leaders can exchange ideas? You know what I we like to have for our pass chapter? One single email address for our chapter where the members can send emails and suggestions. Now I have to pass my personnel email for the members. So when the next president comes, the email changes and that sucks... 🙁 Or you have to take the email from Yahoo or other hosts like that.

Sorry to hear it. Although, it makes one less person I have to track down at the summit. I think I'm just going to try Steve & Andy's approach of hanging out in the lounge area and let people find me.

I'm sure we can get something on the PASS web site. They've got a lot more technology now than they used to.

Yeah, the email thing is a bit of an issue. I'd recommend getting a domain & then use email forwarding. It's easier to host the domain somewhere & deal with the email on an individual basis.

  • Now how do you like the OP's reply to Lutz's suggestion on this one http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic793490-1291-1.aspx

  • Is it just me, or are we starting to get a lot of "homework" questions again? I've seen several lately that seemed to be absolutely basic, to the point that I assume that the OPs are SQL newcomers and probably students.

This is NOT a rant or even a complaint. I'm just wondering if there was some predictable seasonality to this. There always seems to be a rash around the end of the fall and spring semesters.
