Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Then you have the OP that refuses to read the suggested article and won't post data in a readily usable format. First as a text file, then as an Excel spreadsheet.

I do have better things to do than rework an OP's data and such just to be able to help them. Oh well, back to rewriting an SSIS package. The original is corrupt and unuasable. Good thing it is a simple process and easily recreated from scratch. I plan on making a few changes to the process.

Lutz, gotta tell you, you're a genius! Your direction given in http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic785337-1291-1.aspx has answered all questions, no more need for forums.

    To quote:

The answer is simple as well:

    SELECT * FROM YourTable

-- assuming your table has the appropriate columns and the values you'd like to query are entered...

Among a lot of other mysteries here's one I never figured out:

How can I make my assumption quoted above become true ? :hehe:

Seriously, the OP has been asked more than once to provide more detailed information so I decided to show him one possible solutionbased on what the OP provided. Was it too offensive??

Lutz, answering a question with a Tautology always makes your answer correct, that's I guess by definition as you as an expert should know? Just wondering whether the OP is still figuring out whether he can disprove your statement. Maybe that's why he hasn't come back for a few days? 😉

My son reads the editorial scripts at times. He asked me what "it" was and why did I capitalize it?

Just tell him what I told my sons when they asked me that: "It's a grown-up word that kids like your aren't supposed to read. You'll understand what IT means when you're old enough."

For some reason, after I told them that they both became really interested in IT, for a while...

  • Although I've been to Arlington National Cemetery many times, today was the first time that I ever attended an interment service there. Incredibly moving.

  • Has anyone heard anything from Gail recently? She's been notably absent from "The Thread" for quite some days. Probably preparing for her PASS sessions, but still wondering if she's OK?

  • Oh, yeah, before I forget, apologies to all those members that support the Wallabies and the All Blacks for the Springboks winning the Tri Nations with just one blemish on the way to victory. Brisbane, your stadium is just too much of a challenge to the Bokke. For the time being that is 😀

  • Although I don't hail from NZ, I must be counted among the All Blacks' supporters.

I also root for the Essendon Bombers if I ever get a chance to watch Australian Rules Football.

I blame these strange quirks on a long stretch of insomnia decades ago. Thank you, ESPN

    Congrats to your Springboks. 🙂

Absolutely. Best in the world at the moment by a good margin.

  • I can see it now. All the heavy hitters and denizens of The Thread finally get together over a Christmas Holiday (with apologies to those who don't celebrate Christmas). As a part of the get together there is a White Elephant Gift Exchange and everyone has gone out and purchased an inexpensive gift and wraped it in cheerful holiday wrapping paper.

And when it's all said a done, everyone goes home with a package of "Depends."

    ???

    Lost.

My vision is an aggregate from several other threads today. Seems "It Depends" has been thrown around quite a bit both here on SSC as well as in many peoples work places.

I guess you have to have read the appropriate threads to understand the humor in this one. My apologies.
