Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Hey Grant.

I completely disagree with your choice of disk counter. Just so you know. 😉

  • Hell Grant. 425 attendees! That's going to be one of the best-attended sessions so far.

She says that Jack, but let's see if she invites you to train on Tues or Wed night ...

I like using the telephone directory to explain indexes. Most people know what one looks like, make the explanations much easier.

I'm beginning to run into people who've never used one. They don't have a home phone line, just cell/VOIP, and they look up numbers by using Google search. Makes explaining indexes a lot harder.

It's been years since I used one. For Canadian phone numbers I always use Canada411.

Enjoying Gail's session on indexing on 24 hours of PASS. Don't know how much I'll retain being up this early.

I'm definately getting the download on that one.

Great session Gail. Lots of good information.

Now whenever I read one of your posts I'll have the correct voice in my head:-P

Next up for me is Grant's session.

    Same thoughts here.

I liked how she kept mentioning looking up information in the telephone book. That certaily made it easy to understand why 1 option should be better than another.

Now listening to Simon Sabin talking about Reporting Services.

oh, if Grant starts talking about Oracle for Dummies, I swear I had nothing to do with it!!!!!

    😀

It's a good thing I had other people to stear me straight. I had Oracle books I was going to start reading from...

Please, disagree away. I just tried the find the bare bones basic counters. I didn't think they'd be perfect.

What is wrong with using Avg. Disk Queue Length?

Thanks. I was told the max number was 435. I only saw 410. Still, that's one heck of a lot of people to fumble the reports for Data Collector in front of. It was fun though.

I'll politely refuse. Don't want to get tossed around by her, you, or Kalen Delaney. At least I know you are bigger than me.

This is certainly an interesting question... what IS wrong with that counter?
