Gotta love an ISP that depends on their customers to tell them that a portion of their network infrastructure has been offline for 2 days.

How about a phone company that doesn't throw the switch to your new address when you move to a new home (while keeping your old number), then transfers your call to an outsourced help desk person who tries to tell you that phone lines have to be run to the new location?

Makes me wonder if I should contact TMobile and tell them that part of their system is down. Looks like the database that stores customer usage data is down.
hmmmm ... I need to watch the new post to see if there's any that might be related to this. 😉

I called this evening to ask if there were any known problems, because I've been having intermittent problems since yesterday morning. Help desk replied that there were no issues and that all towers were working fine. I tell them that tower 103 (the primary tower in my area) has not been accepting connections since yesterday. Helpdesk puts me on hold to consult with the technicians. 10 min later she informs me that it appears there's a problem with 103, thanks me for letting them know and says that they'll get the technicians looking at the problem.
*sigh*

Heh... ask them for a 2 day service rebate and a "finders fee" and see how far you get?
BTW... how did you know the tower number?

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Yeah that's likely to happen. Not!

See attachment. That's the connection software that the modem uses (bloody irritating that it's needed)

C'mon Gail, you could have left your username and password in there. I might need internet access if I ever get to South Africa!:-P

You'd need to steal my modem to use them. Proprietary modem, proprietary software.
Besides, modem is taking flying lessons come March....

Gail, be sure to turn your modem off first. You don't want to violate any regulation regarding the use of electronic devices while flying.

I can't believe it! I'm almost finished with my article!
It took me three months. I could have written the "Divina Commedia" in this time...
Is anybody interested in reviewing my article? It's about short-circuiting of boolean expressions.
I could also review it by myself, but, after some recent facts, I wouldn't like to change its title to "20 top ways to shortcircuit boolean expressions"...:-)

I'd be happy to.

No worries. Its power cable isn't long enough for that to be a concern.

Why don't people read questions before answering?
Question: How do I recover data that was lost? I have no backups.
Answer: Restore your full backup to another system... etc...

I sometimes think people are trying hard to build a reputation by answering, and don't want to read. They want to just throw something out there.
