Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • You are welcome, Eirikur. I thought that the cultural and (slang) language meanings might be unclear.

I think the US usage of some words, maybe many, doesn't match the dictionary well.

  • It appears I am not alone in the group to which I belong - the Human Race.

Where all are created equal - no matter the color of their skin, their gender, or their religion.

I am old enough to have seen Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. Truly one of the greatest and most inspiring speeches of my lifetime.

You have your own  odel and that's fine.  What I took exception to was your passive aggressive and highly judgemental mouth saying such condescending things like you being personalty embarrassed for me. If you want to discuss something, you need to stop making such passive aggressive yet still ad hominess attacks.

I don't know if I should take posting advice from a guy who would post what you did.

Understood.  You really don't understand what I said nor why I'm saying it and so I understand your position.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

  • Again due to gaslighting on the other major technical Q&A forum I'm making pointless public statements

Also what's with all the 504 gateway errors recently.  I know the "active topics" takes a good 15-20 seconds to load the first page but loading the 2nd/3rd/4th is just like pulling teeth with a barrage of 504.  The site and servers need some serious love Redgate.

  • If it's taking you 15s to load, that's a problem. I haven't seen that lately, and when I load today, it's quick. Usually it's slow for me, as I have all sorts of admin things loading.

If there are times when you're seeing errors or a slow load, please note the time. There are lots I can go through, but not they are far too large without any guidance on when. I do know there were some search functions that could peg the machine and sometimes cause a load problem and create timeouts, but those are usually sporadic.

2021-09-28 07:38 BST, forums->active topics took 10 seconds to render.

For me always between 10-15 seconds for that to render at all times.

  • I had someone ask me how many a couple was this morning, it was just one of those weird moments where I assumed that was just standard knowledge but the person had no idea.

  • Okay, planning a road trip to Tennessee over the Columbus Day weekend. Plan is to leave Saturday, October 9th, come back October 12th and take October 13th off to recover from the trip. The trip will take be through Kansas City, hint hint...

  • You won't, but if you do pass through Tulsa, give me a shout.

As to KC, I plan to get up there sometime soon(ish) to go to the WWI museum. Oh, and visit relatives. But mainly that first thing.

The WWI museum is really amazing. Also should go Union Station which just at the bottom of the hill. And if you have time the money museum at the Federal Reserve building is really interesting.
