Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Just need a place to vent this... I was searching for a room on a major hotel chains website, I entered the dates as March 30, 2019 through April 6.  I find a match at the hotel I want to stay at, great.  Oops, I entered my date wrong, I need March 31 through April 6.  I noticed this right after the initial search, so I change the dates and search again.  No rooms available now!? OK, maybe someone swooped in and got the last rooms available.  But I try doing the initial search again, the 03/30 date, again it finds rooms.  OK, maybe it's being kept in my browser/cookies whatever.  So I try doing this search on a different computer and my phone, I get the same results.  It says there is a room for 03/302019 - 04/06/2019 but not 03/31/2019 - 04/06/2019.  This just seems really messed up that for the shorter time frame it would say no rooms.  I'm not trying to get any special promotion or anything like that, just a simple search based on the dates.

Whatever their reason is they just lost my business.  Idiots!.

Probably related to a two day minimum over the weekend. Plus, that is my birthday, so it's a global holiday.

This is not unusual.  We had a very flexible schedule 2 years ago, and while planning the stops at various places, we found the same thing.
It was especially prevalent when checking in on a Friday or Saturday, and checking in on a Sunday or Monday.

Funny you say that, been thinking where that was going and had concluded that there must be an upcoming shift in IaaS and data service related areas

  • Morning, all. Would you expect to see this message in the error log of a SQL instance that does NOT have Availability Groups enabled (and never has)? It is on a clustered server, but as I said, no AGs ever.

Always On Availability Groups: Waiting for local Windows Server Failover Clustering node to start.

    Thanks.

I've seen this few times but never dug into it since the severity level was too low for me to bother 😉

  • Hah, thanks. I can't tell if it's an issue or not. We have some problems on this server and I'm trying to work out whether it might be a) useful diagnostic symptoms or b) a total non-issue.

  • Thanks to everyone that did some testing on the new site. We're hoping to cut this week, but a couple of small, but rather important bugs to work through still.

If you have more feedback, keep it coming.
