David Burrows - Thursday, October 11, 2018 6:49 AMThanks 🙂
I think a little research and play is in order
Personally, I prefer it way more than the msdb method, and I was never fan of the filesystem method.
One peeve I do have is that you have to deploy the full project when you make a change, you can't deploy a single package; so Source Control is really important.

Brandie Tarvin - Thursday, October 11, 2018 5:19 AMSteve, there's no good way to add comments to Report Post anymore. Can you set this thread Read Only? Nothing is getting accomplished because the OP refuses to give anyone the information we need to help him out and everyone is just piling on to that refusal.
And just now the OP actually disclosed personal information such as their bank account number.

Ed Wagner - Thursday, October 11, 2018 6:38 AMGrant Fritchey - Thursday, October 11, 2018 5:37 AMAnd I'm done. I really did try, but at the end, it was a serious waste of typing and CPU power. Ah well. I guess I'll never see the super secret SQL that's in the view. Damn. I really wanted some of that Microsoft bounty money.Never mind the MS money - what about that view? I'll bet the NSA wishes it knew about that super-secret view. It might solve half of the world's problems, right? 😛
My guess is that "the view" is a candidate for this thread

I noticed that. I'm really hoping he isn't that gullible, but I'm suddenly worried he is.

I'm afraid he/she is.
I first thought the reply was a joke (I mean, who would ever name a bank: YES bank). But I googled it and YES bank is a real bank in India.

I googled the bank before I posted my response. It remains to be seen if he listens to me.

Clearly I was not trying to get personal information.
However does this not seem odd?
And recently there have been a number of posts from people who claim to be new to SQL but have lots of experience points...
Not trying to be the bad guy, just pointing out some potentially obvious things.

Remember experience goes up if you like other people's points. Or if you attempt quizzes.

It really is worth looking at. The auditing is better, the parameter control is better and I find deployment between environments so much easier. Ensuring that you're using the appropriate version of SSMS is a pain and I can't believe that they couldn't do something about that but that aside, so much easier and controllable than previous methods.

Oh god, I gave in to temptation...
I posted in that topic...
Can anyone ever forgive me?
But at this point, I'm with Brandie and said as much, lock it down.
Or move it, create a new section "SQL Server Trolling" and stick it there.

Not gonna happen. Stop replying, unsubscribe. Let it go.

Far easier to just ignore it.
I hate it when threads are set to "Read Only" because some good info can suddenly crop up even years later but no one can express it because it's Read Only.

Heh... look at it as a test of the most important DBA skills there are... extreme patience ("Ah... this too shall pass" is one of the many renditions of that skill) and the ability to ignore people that desperately need to be ignored.

I've unsubscribed. I cannot take it any longer. He posted his bank account info, but will not post the code.

If you assassinate a DBA, would you pull a trigger?
